Remarks about a jabot

I added an extra layer to the jabot on my bustled dress just before I went to an event.  It was only after a few hours that I noticed that it had developed a tendency to sag!  I saw in some of the CDVs from my own photo collection that the jabot often includes lace that goes around the neck.

Costume update

I got my bustle dress in wearable condition by around 2 a.m. of the morning I had to wear it. Now another event is coming up and I am working on the dress again, adding some finishing touches I didn't have time for last year. The event is "Guarding the gate," taking place on Angel Island on July 30-31. Re-enacters will create a military timeline at Camp Reynolds spanning the 1860's to the 1940's.

Now I'm taking CNIT 132, so I've come back to add more to my blog.

Fashion note: I finished my Regency dress just in time for my Regency tea.
Now I'm planning an 1870's bustle dress to wear to to an event next summer. I'll have to get started right away if I want to finish it in time!

I started this blog as a class assignment. Will I continue it now? I did okay in the class so will probably take the next one.

Fashion note: I'm currently working on a Regency dress.

Follow-up to my first blog

Here is a photo I took of the wreath placed on Lotta's fountain on Saturday.

My first blog

Saturday, April 18, was the anniversary of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire. People gathered at Lotta's Fountain at 5 a.m. to commemorate the event. If you go to the Kron 4 website, you can see a news video of the occasion currently.
